Sprengelia incarnata (Ericaceae) 2:454 Sprengelia incarnata is a very widespread and abundant shrub. It occurs in almost all wet peaty places in Tasmania (and there are plenty of them), ranging from sea level to subalpine areas. It is quite variable (though one extreme alpine form has been split off as S. montana). It is an erect shrub with short (typically spreading about 1cm from the stem), broad sheathing leaves. It is occasionally confused with Richea sprengelioides or R. procera, but the latter species have leaf scars forming rings around the stems.
