| Lindsaea
linearis (screw fern) is a very common native fern
that mostly grows in wet heaths. It is a small fern with
leaves pinnately divided into wedge-shaped leaflets. The
sori are elongated, placed along the edge the lamina and are
protected by a flap of the lamina (an indusium).
It is often confused with Asplenium
flabellifolium, which differs in having the
sori on the under side of the lamina and mostly grows in
humid microsites in dry rocky places.
