Asplenium trichomanes (Aspleniaceae)

Asplenium
trichomanes (maidenhair spleenwort) is an uncommon,
but widespread native fern. It is a small fern that grows on
rock, or in thin soil in rocky places. It has leaves divided
pinnately into wedge-shaped leaflets. The sori are
elongated, placed on the underside of the lamina and are
protected by a flap of the lamina (an indusium). It can
easily be distinguished from A.
flabellifolum by having brittle leaf rachises,
instead of the slender flexible stems.
