| The
Violaceae are represented in Tasmania by two very different
genera, Melicytus
(formerly known as Hymenanthera) and Viola.
Melicytus is a genus of shrubs and small trees. The
Tasmanian flora includes both native and introduced species
of Viola. These ground-hugging herbs have highly
asymmetrical flowers with a large bottom petal. |
