Lobelia
browniana (toothed lobelia) is an erect herb to about
50 cm high. It has flowers in one-sided, elongated
inflorescences and narrow leaves up to 4cm long. The flowers
are blue.
It differs slightly from L.
gibbosa, by having a
shorter flowering season (Nov-Feb), its leaves are narrowly
toothed and has shorter central lobe (petal) in its flower.
It is also similar to L.
rhombifolia and L.
simplicicaulis, but in those species the
leaves (especially those near the base of the stem) are
lobed or coarsely toothed.
