Tasmania
has seven species of bird-orchids (Chiloglottis).
These plants are low growing, and have a single pair of
opposite leaves, which grow more-or-less flat on the ground.
The flowering stem is short (usually only 1-2 cm tall) and
bears a single conspicuous flower at the top.
