| Tasmania
has two species of Acianthus. These are the
mayfly-orchid (A. caudatus) and the small
mosquito-orchid (A. pusillus). Both have a single,
broad leaf attached near the base of the slender stem. The
flowers are dark, with slender, spreading petals and sepals.
Both species typically occur in the understorey of dry
sclerophyll forests.
Cyrtostylis was
previously included in Acianthus.
