Pauridia
vaginata, formerly known as Hypoxis
vaginata, is a small, uncommon native species
found in a range of open habitats in eastern Tasmania –
especially in grasslands. It typically has a few grass-like
leaves up to
7cm long growing from a buried tuber, with one or two
flowering stems each with only one
yellow, star-like flower.
