| Dianella brevicaulis (Asphodelaceae)

Dianella brevicaulis is a common native species that
typically grows in coastal areas in
grassland, on rocks or open forest. Like D. revoluta,
the leaves are tightly revolute when dry,
but will unroll to some degree in wet conditions. The leaves
are somewhat smaller than D.
revoluta, up to 50 cm long. Unlike D. revoluta,
the inflorescences are considerably shorter
than the leaves.
