Bulbine
bulbosa is a perennial plant usually with a
bulb-shaped tuber and fleshy roots. The leaves are up to 25
cm long and 2-5 mm in diameter and the scape is up to 50 cm
high. The filaments of the golden star-shaped flowers are
bearded, the hairs partly hiding the anthers.
This species is widespread in a variety of habitats in the
eastern half of the state.
