A. minus (small vanilla-lily) is a perennial herb with
tubers attached virtually to the rootstock. Its leaves are
grass-like and up to 30 cm long. The inflorescence is
usually unbranched, with solitary, pale to deep mauve,
pendant flowers. The hairs on the stamen filaments are white
to purple and the anthers are purple or sometimes greenish.
