Ornithogalum (Asparagaceae [formerly part of Liliaceae]) 4b:369

Tasmania has two introduced species of Ornithogalum, O. umbellatum (star-of-bethlehem) and O. augustifolium (narrowleaf cape-lily). Both have numerous leaves at the base of the stem. The leaves are flat and about 20 cm by 5 mm. The flowers are in an inflorescence at the end of the scape, and are blue or sometimes white, with green strips.
