| Tasmania
has two introduced species of Ornithogalum, O. umbellatum
(star-of-bethlehem) and O. augustifolium (narrowleaf
cape-lily). Both have numerous leaves at the base of the
stem. The leaves are flat and about 20 cm by 5 mm. The
flowers are in an inflorescence at the end of the scape, and
are blue or sometimes white, with green strips. |
