One species of Aloe has become naturalised in Tasmania. Aloe maculata is a common plant in gardens. It is a moderately large herb with tapering succulent, toothed leaves with numerous pale spots. The leaves have strong teeth. The flowers are red, tubular and carried on an erect stalk.
