| Tasmania
has two native genera in Colchicaceae: Burchardia and
Wurmbea. They only have a few narrow leaves and
white flowers (sometimes with purple bands).
These genera were once considered to be part of
Liliaceae, which was a very artificial grouping of plants
and has therefore been splintered into numerous families.
