Asphodelaceae (formerly part of Liliaceae) 4b:380
Asphodelaceae is a fairly large family in Tasmania; it is comprised of four introduced and seven native genera.

This grouping is supported by molecular (DNA) studies which have brought together a number of very diverse genera.

These genera were once considered to be part of Liliaceae, which was a very artificial grouping of plants and has therefore been splintered into numerous families.  To see the fates of the other Tasmanian genera formerly in Liliaceae click here.
