Tasmania
has six native genera and five introduced genera in the
Asparagaceae family. They include all the genera formerly in
the Laxmanniaceae and Lomandraceae families.
These genera were once considered to be part of Liliaceae,
which was a very artificial grouping of plants and has
therefore been splintered into numerous families. To see the
