Iris germanica (german iris) is a weed species which
has leaves 30-50 cm long and 2.5-4.5 cm wide. The scape is
up to 120 cm long, 1- or 2-branched, with 2-4 condensed
clusters each with 2-5 flowers. The flowers are usually
white, sometimes blue or violet and often streaked or
flecked with contrasting colours.
