| Diplarrena
contains two common native species. Like many irises
they are a tufted plant, with the stems flattened and the
leaves in two rows. The flowers are white with purple and
yellow patches near the base, 3-5 cm wide. The leaves of
both species can be up to almost one metre in length. D.
moraea (white flag-iris) is a species of dry forests
and heaths, and has leaves less than 1 cm wide. D.
latifolia (western flag-iris) is a species of wet
heaths and sedgelands and has leaves more than 1cm wide. |
