Isoetes
humilior is a rare native aquatic plant. It only grows
in a few alpine/subalpine lakes on the Central Plateau. Like
other quillwort species, the leaves are cylindrical and in
clumps. The leaves are rigid and the sporangia are covered
by a membranous layer (the velum).
