| Cyathea
cunninghamii (slender treefern) is one of Tasmania's
three tree fern species (all are native). It is very rare,
and only found in small populations in gullies widely spaced
around the east, north and west and southern coasts. Its
habit is very distinctive - very tall and slender.
It sometimes hybridises with the more common C.
australis to produce the plants called Cyathea x marcescens.
