Blechnum patersonii (Blechnaceae)

Blechnum
patersonii (strap water fern) is an uncommon
native ground fern that grows near water both in rainforests
in eastern and northern Tasmania. It is a small fern,
with dark green fronds often about 40cm long. It is the only
Blechnum species in Tasmania that has simple, unlobed
leaves.
