Hymenophyllum (Hymenophyllaceae) Tasmania has seven native species of Hymenophyllum. These filmy ferns grow in the understorey of wet forest, often as epiphytes or on rocks or logs. Like all filmy ferns they have membranous leaf laminas (only 1-cell thick and translucent).
