Lemna (Lemnaceae) 4b:31 Tasmania has two native species of Lemna. These are small (<10 mm long), free-floating aquatics in still or slow-flowing water. They have no leaves, but do have roots dangling in the water. They are Lemna disperma (common duckweed) and Lemna trisulca (star duckweed).
