Pimelea
curviflora (curved riceflower) is an uncommon
species found in wet sclerophyll forests in the north and on
the Bass Strait islands. The flowers are yellowish. The
stems and lower surfaces of the leaves are hairy with the
upper surface hairy to non-hairy.
There are two subspecies in Tasmania;
subsp. gracilis (including former P. micrantha, siver
riceflower) typically has obtuse, discolorous leaves, a
single stem and inflorescences of mostly 3-7 flowers and is
usually found in forest areas.
subsp. sericea typically has acute leaves of one colour,
multiple stems with inflorescences of mostly 5-15 flowers
and is usually found in grassland areas
