Solanum
linearifolium is an introduced plant (native to Vic,
NSW and ACT) sparingly naturalised in Tasmania with recorded
sightings only in the Cataract Gorge/ Trevallyn Nature
Reserve Area in the north.
As an erect shrub it can grow to 4 m high. Its leaves
are entire, long (15-40 cm) and narrow (0.5-1 cm wide) or
sometimes lobed.
Purple flowers appear either solitary on a stem or as a
loose cluster of up to 10 flowers on a primary peduncle.
