Correa
alba is a common coastal shrub, with thick, round
leaves and largish white flowers with petals that are
spreading from almost their bases. The leaves are velvety
hairy (less so in the south-east). It occurs on exposed,
rocky and sandy shorelines on the east and north coasts of
Tasmania (compared to C.
backhouseana, which occurs in similar habitats
on the west and south coasts). The spreading white petals
are quite distinct from those of the other species, which
are greenish (or occasionally partly red in C.
reflexa) and held together in a tube for most of
their length.
