Galium compactum (Rubiaceae) Not in The Student's Flora

Galium compactum
is a straggling or clumping native herb, often spreading by underground rhizomes. The young stems, up to 8 cm long, are covered with soft hair, becoming hairless at maturity. The leaves and stipules  are of equal size and in whorls of four.
Flowers occur in groups of about 3 in the leaf axils and are shorter than the leaves when mature.
