| Cryptandra
species low growing native species with very narrow, alternate
leaves. The flowers superficially resemble those of Epacris
in having flowers with a white, petaloid tube. However, this tube is
not formed from fused petals. Instead the flowers are deeply perigynous (i.e.
the tube is a extension of the base of the flower, and has tiny petals, sepals and
anthers attached). Tasmania
has three native species of Cryptandra.
