Ranunculus setaceus ( Ranunculaceae) 1:14

Ranunculus setaceus
(simple-leaf buttercup) is a small, uncommon alpine herb. It is grows in alpine streams or depressions prone to flooding. The plant forms clusters of small rosettes. The leaves are quite distinctive within the genus - they are usually very narrow, 3-6cm long and usually unlobed, so that the rosettes look like a small monocot. It has very small, pale green flowers about 8mm wide. They are solitary on stalks shorter than the leaves.
