Ranunculus amphitrichus (river buttercup) is a native
aquatic species that grows in still or slow moving, shallow
fresh water ponds and streams throughout Tasmania. The plant
forms rosettes that are joined by stolons, and the leaves
rise above these with the blades floating on the surface or
in the water column. The leaves often have long petioles (to
15cm) and the blades are round in outline, but deeply
divided into narrow lobes. The flowers are golden yellow and
10-15mm wide. |
