Ranunculus (Ranunculaceae) 1:11

Tasmania has nineteen native species and six introduced species of Ranunculus (buttercups) and one species of uncertain origin (R. trichophyllus). They vary in habit and habitat, but are often plants with palmate or palmately-lobed leaves.

They often grow in wet places (such as boggy ground), although some are aquatic and others live in dry places. All are herbs and all but one have yellow flowers.

Ranunculus species can be difficult to identify (so be patient with this poor key).
