Tasmania
has four introduced species of Polypogon. These have
dense inflorescences of one-flowered spikelets. Annual
beardgrass (P. monspeliensis) is a common and very
distinctive weed, in which the spikelets have soft awns that
give the whole inflorescence a feathery appearance.
P. lutosus is perennial beardgrass. |
