| Plantago
bellidioides (herbfield plantain) is a native
rosette herb that sometimes develops a taproot. It grows in
sandy places near the east, north-west and west coasts. The
leaves are more or less entire, have septate (i.e. divided
into a series of cells) hairs on both surfaces and are held
flat to the ground. They have petioles about as long
as the blade (2-4 cm long) and 3-5 obvious longitudinal
veins. |
