| Persoonia
muelleri is a widespread and common shrub that grows
in wet forest (often relatively open places in such forest)
in the west and north-east. It extends into subalpine and
rarely alpine areas in the west. It is sometime confused
with P. gunnii,
but has longer, straighter leaves and larger, yellow
flowers.
There are three subspecies -
ssp. muelleri is hairless and grows in the
north-eastern half of the state,
ssp. angustifolia has narrow, hairy leaves and
grows in the west on very nutrient poor substrates,
ssp. densifolia has hairy, relatively broad
leaves and grows along the south coast and offshore
islands.
