Three
species of Oenothera (evening-primrose) are garden
escapes that have become established, especially on
roadsides and waste ground. The South American
species, Oenothera stricta (fragrant
evening-primrose) is the most common. The flowers are
conspicuous and obvious. The leaves are serrate margined.
