Viola serpentinicola (Violaceae) not in The

Viola
serpentinicola is an endemic, perennial herb of
western Tasmania, found only on serpentinite geology,
growing in areas of disturbance such as road verges.
It is mat-forming and has stolons (runners) which are
often red in colour.
The leaves up to 15 mm long and 20 mm wide, are rhomboidal
to triangular with a wavy margin and form a rosette.
The corolla is violet near the centre and the fruit is a
green capsule with purple mottling.
