  Viola odorata (Violaceae) not in The Student's Flora


Viola odorata
is a common weed species which has become naturalised in a few peri-urban areas.
It is a small perennial herb with tough rhizomes.  Leaves are round, shortly toothed and up to 7 cm long, on petioles up to 12 cm in length and occur in rosettes and along the stems. 
The flowers are fragrant and may be white or violet.
