Viola curtisiae is a rare
perennial native herb of sub-alpine woodlands.
Leaves up to 15 mm. long and 22 mm. wide form a
rosette. The plant forms stolons (runners).
Petals, cream on the outside and light purple on the
inside, end in 2 lobes or are notched.
The flowering stem is normally shorter than the leaves but
sometimes slightly longer.
Flowering and fruiting occur from December to January and
the fruit is an egg-shaped capsule which is cream when
mature.
