Sambucus
nigra (black elderberry) is an introduced shrub that
has become naturalised in a number of relatively wet waste
areas. It has large, soft, pinnate, deciduous leaves and
conspicuous corymbs of white flowers in spring and abundant
black, fleshy fruit about 6mm in diameter.
