Salix x fragilis (Salicaceae) not in the
Student's Flora
Salix
x fragilis (crack willow) is a common garden plant
that has become naturalised in places along watercourses.
The rigid branchlets that break with a crack are
distinctive. It is considered to be of hybrid origin (hence
the x in the species name).
