Tasmania
has two introduced species of Scabiosa. Garden
pincushion (S. atropurpurea) is a common weed of
roadsides. It is also a common garden plant. The flower
colour is highly variable - ranging from dark purple to
almost white. S. farinosa (dwarf pincushion bush) has been
naturalised in a small number of places near Hobart.
