Leycesteria (Caprifoliaceae) 2:266


One species of Leycesteria has become naturalised in Tasmania. (L. formosa; also known as himalayan honeysuckle or elishas tears) has ovate leaves with acuminate apices and coarsely serrate margins. They are about 5-15 cm long. The conspicuous part of the plant, both at the flowering and fruiting stage, are the large, purplish floral bracts. The inflorescences are pendulous.
