Phytolaccaceae has one species, Phytolacca octandra
(red-ink weed), in Tasmania. This is a large herb or
soft-wooded shrub to 2m high and wide, which has become
naturalised on King and Flinders Islands and in a few places
on mainland Tasmania. Perianth segments can be whitish,
green, tinged red or wholly reddish-purple.
