The
squash family is represented in Tasmanian flora by a single
native species, Sycios australis, a scrambling herb
found on Flinders Island, and a couple of weed species -
prickly paddymelon (Cucumis myriocarpus) and the
redoubtable squirting cucumber (Ecballium elaterium).
