In Tasmania, Holomitrium
has two representatives. Both are epiphytes of wet forest. H.
trichopodum was previously included under Dicranoloma as
D. trichopodum and resembles a small Dicranoloma menziesii.
H. perichaetiale is a larger species with leaves tightly
curled along the length of the stems.
