Malva preissiana (formerly known M. australiana and Lavatera plebeia; Malvaceae) 1:83

Malva preissiana (australian mallow) is a reasonably common native plant near the coast on the Bass Strait islands. It is a robust herb up to about 1m tall that is sometimes woody enough to be considered as a shrub. The Tasmanian specimens tend to be very hairy, so that the foliage looks pale blue in colour. The large, pale flowers also help distinguish this plant from most of the weedy species of Malva.
