Lasiopetalum baueri (Malvaceae, formerly Sterculiaceae) 1:90 Lasiopetalum baueri (slender velvetbush) is an uncommon species of shrub found near the north coast. It has long narrow leaves. It resembles the more common  L. micranthum, except that the flowers have larger stamens, the leaves do not have the secondary veins depressed, the sepals (the obvious petal-like parts of the flower) are relatively broad and the bracts (the brown or green structures at the base of the flower sometimes confused with sepals) curve up (see the picture).
