Melaleuca spp (Myrtaceae) not in the Student's
Flora

At
least two cultivated species of Melaleuca appear to
have become naturalised in Tasmania (e.g. near Pipers
River), M. hypericifolia and M. citrina.
Both are a large shrubs with hard, largish leaves. The
flowers are red and conspicuous "bottlebrushes". The fruit
are woody, sessile and persistent along the branches. |
