Tasmania
has eight native species of Leptospermum (teatree) and one
naturalised species (L. petersonii).
These are all shrubs or trees with solitary, more or less
woody capsules and white flowers. The flowers have
inferior ovaries, five obvious, free, white petals, five
small sepals and many stamens.
