Telaranea centipes is probably the most recognizable species
of Telaranea in the field. At some parts of the stem, the
leaves may appear almost longitudinally inserted. The 4 teeth at the
leaf apices are not widely divergent and appear to all be pointing
almost in the same direction. The underleaves have four teeth like the stem leaves.
T. centipes is superficially similar to glaucous species of
Lepidozia like Lepidozia glaucophylla but the latter
species is larger and the some of the side branches end in flagella. |
